Child Protection

Working as a professional within Child Protection means that you will contribute to the wellbeing and safety of our most vulnerable children and young people whilst working with a dynamic and diverse team.

Improving the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people is a rewarding and challenging career path within the child protection system.

Our people work with stakeholders and partners across the state to run initiatives that improve the services available to the most vulnerable children and youth within our community.

Roles within Child Protection include social work, child and youth work, psychology, counselling, program and case management, as well as a range of support roles. You could also consider volunteering or becoming a foster carer.

Our operational staff work out of local offices within the metropolitan area and across South Australia from Mt Gambier to Port Lincoln.

As a member of the Child Protection team, you will be provided with support through regular training and development to enable you to continue to build your skills. We also have a range of culturally diverse programs for staff, and encourage those from Aboriginal or Torres Islander descent to consider our roles.
